sensing diaphragms used in silicon pressure sensors have a very high degree of
elasticity, and semiconductor strain gauges embedded in the silicon substrate

of silicon pressure sensors are media-isolated, or diaphragm-operated, sensors.
This diaphragm flexes when sensing pressures, transferring the pressure to a
silicon chip via the oil. Traditional oil-filled, isolated diaphragm, silicon
pressure sensors used a lot more oil than the most recent sensor designs.Four
resistors are arranged on a silicon diaphragm in piezoresistive sensors to
evaluate the impact of physical pressure or strain. A Wheatstone bridge circuit
transforms any detectable change in resistance into an output voltage.
